Of course, I’m not just waiting for opportunities to drop in my lap (though it’s funny how often they do. . .). I don’t fret about how something is going to happen. I put the idea out there, do some research, fill out applications, save money, and eventually the universe, my next-door neighbor, God, or whomever you want to call it, shows up with just what I need to make it all happen.

In media I enjoy Content Production. Content is what is being presented to the audience, or what the movie is about on the surface. Form is how the movie is presented. For example, two very different films can share the same content, form being what makes them different from one another.

Being certain of the choices that I make isn’t something that comes particularly naturally to me and I tend to go with what others are doing, putting myself second a lot of the time in my life. Travelling solo is something that really pushes you to address this and was once [one] of the reasons I wanted to travel, and the trust in myself has definitely grown much stronger over the last few months.

The greatest thing about my study abroad experience was the freedom and independence that I had. Although it meant doing the groceries and cleaning the apartment myself, I loved being able to make decisions for myself. I had never felt so free and happy.
