Being certain of the choices that I make isn’t something that comes particularly naturally to me and I tend to go with what others are doing, putting myself second a lot of the time in my life. Travelling solo is something that really pushes you to address this and was once [one] of the reasons I wanted to travel, and the trust in myself has definitely grown much stronger over the last few months.

Who is it that wants to read my book? Anybody? Once I get around to pitching it for publishers, however that works, they will want to know that more people than just my mother will want to read it. I have some grand ideas which hopefully will draw in readers. I am seriously thinking about creating a Substack. All the cool kids are doing it. At first, I had an idea to create a devotional which now seems pedantic and hard and not much fun. Another idea I have, which will require more time to implement, is to offer serial stories. It worked for Charles Dickens, right?

I knew school was primarily going to be paid for using loans or any financial aid I might be provided. There was only one school remotely near my hometown that I would go to if I was accepted, otherwise I wanted to go somewhere in the country that would push me outside my comfort zone. I wanted a larger school than my undergraduate institution that still had a relatively small cohort size. In addition, I was seeking a program with enough clinical and practical experience opportunities that would prepare me to enter the field. I was interested in research, however it was not a make or break for me if the school had adequate clinical/observation experiences.

I am a Diné woman in her early thirties, I have two daughters, I cherish my family time, and am currently enrolled at Diné College. I enjoy making videos, photography, doing blogs, drawing, and sometimes painting. I really enjoy Native American creation stories, books, and art.
