I want to wait a little while and think about what to say

Just what is my blog about? Where is it now and where is it going? I suppose I could call it a hegira, along the lines of Anne Sexton. But it’s gone beyond my personal life— or so I hope— to be more of a social commentary. I wish for my writing to be that good, and possibly turn some heads around. I never used to consider myself wise enough to make any kind of criticism of my culture, but maybe I’m evolving just as my blog is. So we see that writing is a process of transformation, which Anne Sexton also covered. It is a personal thing, but also a social thing. For, every individual’s life makes sense only in the context of its society… and at the same time, individuals construct society by means of language and writing. Sounds like Karl Marx a bit, but I guess the Marxists have a point.

WordPress Pingback Problem (Post)

Back in April (2026), I noticed the site was not creating “pingback” links correctly. I reported the problem to WordPress.com support, and after some back and forth, they reported that the problem was indeed now a known issue having to do with the hosting Automattic provides for wordpress.com sites. Yesterday, I created a link to last friday’s post (see “Whenever I want to express my feelings naturally, Hindi comes effortlessly” [ https://wants.blog/2026/06/26/whenever-i-want-to-express-my-feelings-naturally-hindi-comes-effortlessly ] ) at another site (see “Indigena Revisited” [ https://socio.business.blog/2026/06/28/indigena-revisited ] ) and it seems this problem still persists to this day.

The moment writing starts to feel like an obligation rather than something I want to do, the entire exercise loses its purpose

One of the biggest benefits of writing regularly is the clarity it brings. Thoughts that feel scattered or half-formed become much clearer once they are put into words. Writing creates space to reflect on experiences, notice patterns and properly think things through rather than letting them pass by unnoticed. I’ve also found that it can also be surprisingly grounding. Taking a few minutes each day to sit down and capture an idea, a moment, or a reaction helps slow everything down slightly and helps me to get my brain in gear, ready to start work. Over time it has also helped to build confidence, because the more I have written, the more comfortable I have become at expressing my thoughts and trusting my own voice again.

In a formal way it is on the television in the news, entertainment and information programmes.
