If there was any advice to give students, I would say that you need to remember you are not alone. There are thousands, if not millions, of people going through this yearly. They all end up just fine. There are teachers, guidance counselors, parents, and coaches that are all there to help on this journey. You have time to succeed, make it happen. Don’t waste your junior year by letting the time you could use to slowly begin planning for college slip away. Focus on keeping up with school and grasping an understanding of what you’d like your future to look like. Don’t stress, let the fun happen and continue to be a kid. Enjoy it while it lasts. You will regret spending the greatest years of your life worrying about what the rest will have to come. You’ll be just fine. Good luck!

There was a free speech wall where students could write whatever they wanted (so long as it wasn’t hate speech), gender neutral bathrooms, and every girl we encountered had either a shaved and/or pink head, a crop top, or combat boots, or some combination thereof. We knew that I belonged there.
