The purpose behind sharing content online can differ for each person. In my case, I try to participate in content creation mainly for myself. I do have a target audience, which are my friends and people with similar interests, but I first started sharing pictures on Instagram to have an organized visual of highlights of my life. Thinking of content creation this way truly helped me to stop worrying about other people’s opinion.

Who remembers those? Ever since then I knew fashion was what I wanted to do. But I didn’t. I followed a different route. One where I knew jobs were always going to be available and where I knew I would make a decent income. Don’t get me wrong, I’m happy with my career choice. I’ve realized that regardless of whether it is my desire to excel in my academics, my desire to work hard to be a helpful and caring son, or my wish to just simply be considered a “good person”, all these desires are connected by my fundamental desire to have something to be proud of. I guess that’s not the entirety of it; part of my desire to excel in my studies is based on a genuine interest in what I’m studying, and the main reason why I want to be helpful to my parents is a genuine desire to reciprocate all the love I have received from them.
