After my interview, I was told to expect to hear back in about a week. Six days passed and I was getting ready to take graduation pictures when I texted my roommate that I was upset and felt like I wasted my practicum time because I felt like there was no way I would get a job in L&D. Twenty minutes after I sent that text, I got a call where I was informed that A JOB OFFER WAS BEING EXTENDED TO ME! I was so overwhelmed with joy! I accepted that job and am currently waiting on my temporary license to begin working at my dream job!

Dreams of working in the sports field came in ninth grade

Sports management is a vast field of women and men. I feel like [I’ll] fit right in. although fsw does not offer this major. The University of Florida does, and it’s the number one program and school that offers it. This also happens to be my dream school since a child, so what an ironic idea of going. After receiving my associate’s in arts from FSW, I plan to transfer and finish at UF. Besides school, I do have a life. I work at party city as a cashier. When customers walk in, we say ” welcome to the party,” which has become a part of my daily routine by default. As of now, school is my only focus, and working to maintain the life I want to live. I hope this blog helps me to be more social and learn through others’ experiences. Writing this first post is almost like an open diary—best of luck, classmates.

Doesn’t life have a funny way of distracting you from your goals. I was once told in order to find myself I must set goals. I honestly have never been a future planner type of woman. I’m still working towards my goals, and I think that’s part of the fun in it. There is always something I can do, something I can improve on. I don’t really believe in achieving a dream, because in my mind the notion comes across as stagnant, like it is a clearly defined finish line in which once you are there, you are done.

I always wanted to study something related to fashion

people always think that studying fashion is equal to becoming a designer, and in Brazil, you won’t get a salary that is good enough to survive there. I grew up believing that fashion was equal to being a designer, and I’m so bad at drawing, I couldn’t be a designer.
