From the moment I exited the womb, I knew my duty in life was to give my insight to others, wanted or not. Working in PR will hopefully give me the leeway I need to be able to talk nonstop and give my opinion on things I consider myself an expert in. My heart is at home when I am getting paid to showcase things I love, or more importantly, be in charge and boss people around. My hope in this field is to be able to work in producing media, either in social media, broadcasting, or even as a manager of some form of entertainment.

There are times when comfort and familiarity are the right and helpful thing for many reasons, but just at this point in time I’m wanting to shift into the uncertain and I have to say, making time to pause and dig a little into what the resistance is and what I want to do about it has been helpful

So keep making your mark, arty chums, and enjoy the dance of the journey, that steady rock of risk and retreat. We may find a shift in a sudden, thrilling insight or the quieter call of unrest; I’ve definitely benefitted from taking a pause, marking/making time for a week or two.

To start, I’m writing to be useful to myself, in the sense that if I’m lucky, I have half of my life ahead of me still. What I’m trying to do in my writing is to codify the insights and stories that have been the most helpful to me in the first half of my life, so that I can remember them, carry them with me, and build upon them in the second.

Going forward I want this to be a source for good

I started this blog with the intention of sharing the daily insights of what it was like to be a substitute teacher. I didn’t think people would actually be into reading my thoughts/experiences inside the classroom. I have little control over what is taught in the classroom, as permanent teachers and administrators are the ones who oversee that on a day-to-day and yearly basis. So in layman’s terms I’m pivoting, or shifting the content from my daily struggles and anecdotes to sharing trends (the good and the bad) within the education realm from the standpoint of a future educator.

Wanting to be better at what you do is good as long as you do that with kindness. Despite the fact that I am aware at that I can still push myself too hard to achieve advanced poses when my body says no. She also says that be aware of your mind, don’t use yoga asanas to punish yourself. Funny enough I once confined to my lovely yoga teacher friend that I used asanas to punish myself. That was the biggest insight I ever had.
