I want to challenge the mindset that failure is not an option

There is so much stress in the “failure is not an option” mindset. Stress to be perfect. Stress to get it all right. Stress to impress. Stress to be the best. But what if you walk into the store and choose the wrong can of green beans? Do you just keep them or do you go back and exchange them, all the while knowing other shoppers will point and say “oh look he chose the wrong green beans” and call you a failure then launch tomatoes at you. Dramatic! I know! However, that’s been my story a few times. No one threw tomatoes at me but I have chosen the wrong direction in life. Not everything I Thought i heard from God ended up being God. I’ve made some pretty stupid mistakes. Do you keep the wrong green beans just to avoid being labeled that scary word “failure?” My personal opinion is to own the failure and move on.

I don’t even know if I want to even try because of the fact that I’m already 40

I’m scared that me possibly not being able to have children will be a dealbreaker. I’m scared of disappointing the man who wants to spend the rest of his life with me. I’ve waited this long, and my heart aches with the thought that whoever he is may want a family with me but I won’t be able to produce a child with him.

I’m not good at anything nor have any talent. However, I’m trying out new things recently and have even done such things that I never did in my whole life or if I ever did, it was only a few times. I’m actually doing it for me to figure out the things that I can do well or the things that I’m good at, as well as those that I’m capable of . The same thing that I’ve been doing for almost two years now. I’ve been trying to write stories and poems either in English or Filipino, depending on where I could work on it very well. Also, I tried to make a blog which I really want to, ever since when I was younger.

Having other people comment on your assessments and teaching approaches seems like a good way to gain new perspectives with which you can better yourself. Now I only have the internet for those things but hopefully things will start looking up and I will soon get to do the things I could not before.

I want to say that it might still be worth it to try reading that paragraph

You might say it’s because in a story, you know that the author intends to give you all the information you need to understand what’s going on, whereas this is not the case in mathematical text. My response: you can learn about the mathematical object in the same way you learn about the character in my dad’s blog. Notice that you learn things about this person in a very nonlinear way, and you’re expected to track and piece these things together while you build a reliable mental image of this person.

I am taking the tack of just “being who I want to be”

Instead of TRYING, or PRETENDING, I just AM. This seems fairly straightforward, but being authentic can be hard. So this morning, when I wanted to stay in bed, the person I WANT to be reminded me that she does yoga every morning. So I did.

I wanted to try out his outdoor class

so I took my car and drove off. Suddenly I passed a large shopping center, and decided to do a stop there. I want to buy a Brita (water filtration system) and both save nature and my arms carrying all those water bottles around! Once I entered the building I saw that they also had a car wash service. Perfect! My car really needs a clean after being on the road for so many miles. First available appointment was in Tuesday. Said and done!

I should challenge myself and face my fears

I sometimes find it hard to put the things I want to do in motion for myself

I can sit and think for hours about different things I want to try but finding the motivation to get up and put them in to action is very difficult for me. It is since leaving university that I have noticed this. Not having that community to bounce ideas and have briefs to work from, it’s hard to go 3 years of that to doing it by yourself.
