I didn’t have any study tours this Wednesday, so I decided to have a solo exploration day. In the morning, I walked to Church of our Savior, where I got to climb the spire and see a beautiful view of the surrounding area. It was a little scary getting up there, as Fall comes with a lot of wind in Copenhagen, but the view was absolutely worth it. Afterward, I headed to a part of Copenhagen that I haven’t been to and walked around for a bit.

I immediately thought about my 20s: all the roadblocks and subsequent miracles that had to happen for me to have the privilege of sitting on that bike overlooking the New York City skyline that day. As I close this chapter and embark on my 30’s (which btw everyone says is 10x better than your 20s and so far I agree), it’s fitting for me to finally share about those roadblocks, and the pride I have for overcoming them.

I believe that my unique perspective of being someone in their mid-20’s who is attempting to eventually go digital in work and international in life could be incredibly helpful to some of you who are in the midst of making your own big life choices and leaps of faith. My experiences living, studying, and working abroad have taught me a lot about how to navigate through unfamiliar situations, and I want to be there with concrete tools and advice for you if you’re finding that you’re in a similar boat now – whether you be going abroad or staying domestic! I also know from experience that making big leaps can be incredibly daunting, especially if the people you are closest to have not been through similar experiences or are not jumping for joy for you and your big changes ahead. Sometimes you just need an ear to listen and bounce ideas off of, someone who knows what you are going through because they’ve been there before, and most of all, a cheerleader on your side. I am very good at what I do and as I do it more I will become even better and more and more people will want to work with me because more and more people will find out that the clothes I make are lovely, last a long time and make people feel awesome in them. Money is a funny thing. There is something about being grateful for what we have that increases and expands what we have. There is something about giving and sharing also that expands what we have. I [think] this realization about gratitude is important right now because I wonder if my worry and concern over money is actually preventing me from being fully grateful because I am always afraid I’m going to lose it.
