Having the opportunity to reach many other people through a blog is a concept that is relatively new to me. My book ‘Hope Calling’ will also give me this opportunity – but is still in its publishing stages. Therefore having transparency and authenticity with other people is something I’m still learning how to do. Names matter. What we call something influences what we perceive and experience. The magic of memory depends upon language. I wanted to call this Blog “Sansaku”, but that name was already taken. It’s a Japanese word my wife gave to me. She had used it for a meditation retreat she was leading. She told me it described the way a philosopher walked, and I decided it was close to the way I liked to write.

In order to develop a win- win approach, I have had to rewire myself to a mindset of abundance. When I feel abundant and generous, I come with an attitude that there is enough for everyone. I am comfortable giving first in order to get something later. I also have to be courageous enough to give something up first in order to let everyone gain.
