I still want to be an athlete when I grow up. Not because I dream about stadiums. Because I dream about recovery. I want to run for ninety minutes without stopping every time sadness taps me on the shoulder. I want to celebrate my joys without immediately wondering when they will disappear. I want to lose without making loss my personality. I want to acknowledge my feelings without adopting them as permanent roommates. I want to appreciate them, thank them for visiting, and let them leave without insisting they redecorate the house.
