I miss that level of safety, of acceptance. It’s what I’m looking for moving forward. Someone to match my weird. To celebrate in it.

It seems unfair to get annoyed by receiving advice when I dole it out myself. What I learned about advice with my own children is that you can’t force it upon someone; sometimes, advice needs to be heard and ignored, and lessons learned the hard way before it is accepted. Most importantly, I discovered advice is better received when dropped as a food-for-thought nugget for someone to ruminate on until they decide it was their idea.

A few months ago I wrote a newsletter in which I was describing a Saturday afternoon where I felt pretty sad, for no specific reason. I worked my way out of it and promised myself, from that day on, I would have prioritized only what felt good. Good feeling thoughts, good feeling activities, good feeling actions. Aligned to my uttermost goal: to feel good and create life from that place. I wasn’t gonna waste another day in existential sadness. Or at least I would try not to, and bring myself back consciously.

Even today, I am not able describe that feeling. It was just so peaceful. The thought of bringing a new life into this world was making me nervous as well. I just started preparing my mind to accept it whole heartedly and be at peace all the time. I believed a mothers’ mood impacts the baby (foetus) health. I told myself, ‘If I want a healthy, happy baby, I will have to be like that. No more shedding tears, unless absolute need 🙂 . No more argument, just healthy discussions. You become the one that you want your baby to be when he\she will be in this world.’ Although I found it to be a bit difficult to stick to my pregnancy resolution later, due to change in body conditions. The hormones were at play and sometimes I was just becoming a puppet to them, unable to control anger. Will discuss about it later in depth.
