Cool flowers prefer colder temperatures and when we plant them in the fall and winter months, they allow us to have flowers in the spring and summer that normally don’t do well here in Arkansas in the summer because of the heat…such as snapdragons, larkspur, sweet William, Bupleurum, and Bells of Ireland. I’m nervous and excited all at the same time about the spring. I can’t wait to see blooms! Stay tuned…I’ll be sharing with y’all as I go!

I want to turn this ugly spot into a pollinator garden

It has been determined that three quarters of the flowering plants in the world and more than one third of the food crops in the world, need animal pollinators to reproduce. A number of studies have been done that show just how important animal pollinators are to the food chain. It has been estimated that one out of every three bites of food we eat depend on animal pollinators.
