My mom text me this morning to make sure I was ok. I said I was which was a total lie because I’m not. Please hold on a minute with me while I text her back and apologize for lying to her. I want you to know it’s ok to not be ok. I’m typing this while my one year old is screaming in her bed and I seriously have no clue what’s wrong. I’ve cuddled and fed her I can’t tell you how many times today. I gave her some ibuprofen thinking maybe it’s her teeth because she is typically the happiest baby I’ve ever seen (and I have four remember). I finally gave up and put her to bed in hopes a nap will heal the crabby. And, now she’s asleep. Bingo!

How to Improve

Spring is in the air, and I’ve decided that it’s time for another post from me! 😀

Yesterday I heard about something that happened on March 19, 1525 (and it occurred to me that 1525 was pretty much exactly 1/4 of the time back to the times of Jesus Christ [from our world in the here and now] ). Maybe it was a day or two earlier, or maybe a day or two later. In any case, a bunch of people published a publication that became an instant bestseller. It ruffled some feathers — and Martin Luther was motivated to write the following:

They set up twelve articles, some are which are so just that they bring shame to you before God and world. But almost all of them are in their favour and not drawn up to the best. […] But it is unbearable to tax and slave-drive people like this forever.

I guess I’m someone who will never just be content where I’m at in life. Of course I’m grateful to have a healthy and happy family, but is it wrong to want more? It’s human nature.

I want to be completely raw and honest about everything

I think we live in a world where no matter how connected we are, through social media, we all still feel alone. Most of us will not admit it. We feel alone even if we have a million followers, or we have a booked-up schedule with events and parties. Even when we have a family, friends, partners, kids, life is lonely. At the end of the day the only person inside your head is you. I cannot cure loneness but if I could help one person feel less alone than they did before that is more than I could asked for. As kid I was always told every feeling I had was wrong. Every thing I thought was wrong. The way the I looked, dressed, everything about me was wrong. I never wanted anyone to feel that way about themselves. Constantly trying to change everything about yourself to fit in. To be looked at as normal. I learned over the years that, that is not normal. I believe in letting my kids be who they are even if it’s not something I understand.

Growing up Christian, I was always asked to not focus on things below (worldly things) and on things above (God, eternity, etc.). Now, as I go through a crisis of faith, I find that really hard to do. I really don’t have any idea what I’m supposed to look at. Well, I’ve got a vague idea of what’s beautiful and true. However, aligning your perspective to something sounds like a big deal and I don’t know if what I know right now is of substance or worth committing to.
