WordPress Pingback Problem (Post)

Back in April (2026), I noticed the site was not creating “pingback” links correctly. I reported the problem to WordPress.com support, and after some back and forth, they reported that the problem was indeed now a known issue having to with the hosting Automattic provides for wordpress.com sites. Yesterday, I created a link to last friday’s post (see “Whenever I want to express my feelings naturally, Hindi comes effortlessly” [ https://wants.blog/2026/06/26/whenever-i-want-to-express-my-feelings-naturally-hindi-comes-effortlessly ] ) at another site (see “Indigena Revisited” [ https://socio.business.blog/2026/06/28/indigena-revisited ] ) and it seems this problem still persists to this day.

If you notice this problem persists for you, too (in other words, if you link to a post on this site and no pingback link is created), then please provide feedback in the comments.

    Good news!

    It seems the “internal” link to last Friday’s post did indeed correctly create a pingback link. 😀

    Hopefully, links from other sites will soon also work again.

    In the meantime, I have no problem creating such links manually (I would simply create a new post and link to the blog post directly instead)
