Since I would describe my own personal style as classic, preppy and nautical, I will be making a capsule closet of my own that reflects that. You can expect lots of navy, stripes, and gingham with pops of color. I also plan on covering the whole gambit of occasions to meet all of your dressing needs. Honestly, the more I think about this personal challenge and project, the more excited I get. Who knows, it may even inspire me to completely Marie Kondo my entire closet. That may be quite a stretch, but it’s nice to daydream.

I wanted not to be with family and I wasn’t alone

My made family did a Thanksgiving, which I have done many times for many other holidays, including Christmas, many times. I love those holidays. There is no watch what you say, moments of feeling worthless, having to fight to be considered a grown-up (even though I’ve taken care of myself all by myself for 20 years) I don’t cry on the holidays I spend with my made family. I feel wanted. Family why do we let them get by with so much more than we do other people? I can honestly say I have cut off some of my family members and it’s amazing, tricky because some of the family I still talk to and love, and they love me which is an important factor, and some of them want the traditional idea of family. Family is an interesting thing but it’s something we are all chasing.

Yes, I find myself judging some people’s choices. Sometimes because they seem so out of line with what’s generally accepted as good or ok. And sometimes because I think, given what I know, that the choices aren’t in line with a set of priorities that will bring about the most happiness. But then I remind myself that other people’s choices and priorities and happiness are not my problem if they don’t effect me, and they are not my responsibility.

I have SO many interests and kind of want to do them all

The issue with this is that because my interests are so broad and unrelated, I find focusing on one thing almost impossible. I dip in and out and spread my time (quite poorly) across them all. Ultimately, not really fully immersing myself in whatever it is that I’m doing for an extended period.
