When I have my eye on a new gadget, whatever the reason, I always try to sell items I’m no longer using to cover most of the costs. Because I’m always careful with my things, they often look very good, and if they still work as they should, I put them up for sale. If someone wants it, it’s money towards the new shiney thing I got my eye on. If I don’t sell it, but it’s still good, I bring it to a second hand shop (or goodwill) and there they can sell it. If it’s no longer any good, I won’t sell it, of course! Then I will bring it to a recycling shop so it can be disposed of as it should.
