I want to talk about the sad – talking about the sad make sad go away

Keywords: reflections , anxiety , blog , blogging , communication , growth , listening , relationships

How does one talk about their feelings when their feelings make them want to take a lifelong vow of silence? I got one solution – and that is supportive people. All you really need is a good listener. But this is harder said than done. I’m an absolutely garbage listener, my brain interjects with perspectives and comments every two seconds while someone is speaking. It’s a curse, and it’s taken me a long time to quell my natural anxious mind in favour of patient listening. I’m still on that journey, ladies and gentlemen.

I think there are respectful and productive ways to have these conversations

I think what I owe you as readers of this blog are honesty and respect. That is truly what it boils down to. I am a book reviewer and I talk about my opinions on books to better inform your choices as someone who comes to me for my thoughts and recommendations. That is why I owe you my honesty- it is why you are here. I want to feel good about my recommendations and stand by my reviews, and I do. I also want you to trust me, if when we have different opinions.

I wanted to have a casual conversation like how I would do it with a friend and tell you how I am managing things, is it difficult for me, am I liking it, etc.

The blog about the same will also go up tomorrow, which I am so excited for. In fact, I was not going to post anything today but I would be lying if I say that I am not addicted to sharing every little detail of my life with you all through my blogs. Honestly, I just want to be as transparent as I can because the genuine exchange of energy is working well for me, my blog and my mental health.

It’s 49 degrees outside and, basically, midnight, and all I want to do is have a winter picnic

Warm blankets wrapped around our shoulders, on top of a hill watching the city lights while drinking hot chocolate with cookies and foil wrapped toasted sandwiches. All the picnic spots in LA close at 10pm. But there are plenty of places to park a car and talk.

I want them to get better at their English and go on to that next class

I had one student ask me for more help outside of class to help her with pronunciation. I was moved by her courage to come to me and do so. I told her I will do everything I can to help her. I considered it an honor and privilege that she wanted to come to me and talk to me about her speaking skills.

What do you want a listener or reader to do with what you’ve said? Tell them. People are more likely to act when you’ve made the right action obvious.

There are local people in the park like pubs. For example, parents and children who play with balls or run through park and old people who have walks or young people who run on the road in the park.
