Everyday is another chance to live your life how you want to. We may not know what in the world we are doing, but we can make sure our attitude is right and we are enjoying the things we do on a day to day basis. At the end of the day it’s going to be all of the little actions and experiences along the way that shape us into living a fulfilling life. When you focus on just living and doing, everything else will fall into place and before you know it your life will answer the “what are you going to do with your life?” question on it’s own. It will be natural.

I made my choice and I did all of the right things to land myself a public school teaching job after I graduated

Sometimes I want to shake that girl. I want to shake her and tell her that she’s got her ENTIRE life ahead of her to “figure it out.” I want her to know that the days of choosing a career and sticking with it until retirement are basically a thing of the past. I want to tell her that it’s ok to try something on for a year or two and then change lanes. I want her to know that somehow, she was going to turn around at 33 and suddenly realize that she’s never ever given herself permission to dream.

I did end up following my if/then statements because I did become more independent and I got so much done and I ended up asking so many questions throughout the semester through email

This strategy did help me and I was up-to-date with my work most of the time. Some of my goals didn’t really change but I never did switch my major haha because now I definitely know it is something I want to do in my life, I was just worried in the beginning of the semester.
